A £180,000 regeneration of Brickfield Park will begin on Monday.
New equipment will be fitted in the younger children’s play area at the Orford Lane park, while a new older children’s play area will be created as part of the £181,000 refurbishment.
An outdoor gym and dog exercise area will also be built, while existing furniture in the park will be repainted.
Cllr Morgan Tarr said: “I am delighted that work will begin shortly on the regeneration of Brickfield Park as it will provide a massive boost to the area.
“When I was elected in May I was keen for the project to be completed as soon as possible and I’m very pleased that work will begin next week.
“Many residents have spoken to me about Brickfield Park and the importance of it to families and the local community.
“Throughout Orford we have many green spaces and it is vital that we continue to invest in these areas.”
