AROUND a third of Warrington’s foster children are currently living outside of the town according to new figures.

Stats released by the Birchwood-based National Fostering Agency suggest that of the town’s 300 looked after children, around 100 are being looked after outside of Warrington’s borders.

The National Fostering Agency is embarking on a recruitment drive to ensure more children remain in their own town and close to their schools, family and friends.

A series of information sessions are being held for anyone who is interested in fostering.

Held at the National Fostering Agency’s base on Birchwood Boulevard, the sessions will take place on May 4, June 1 and July 6 between 2-8pm.

They will also be exhibiting at Disability Awareness Day on Sunday July 15 at Walton Gardens.
