I WONDER if I am the only one to detect a pattern in the current scene in Warrington?
Everywhere one looks, the Victorian and Georgian ‘foundations of greatness’ are being ‘let for development’ or simply demolished to make way for new flats or shopping centres.
Compared to other major towns in England, Warrington is gaining a reputation for air brushing out the past, bringing new meaning to the words corporate vandalism.
This is especially compared to preservation areas in other towns.
And the civic pride which goes with them for the benefit of future generations.
