ON Friday I was one of 900 people over 80 attending the vaccination session for Covid at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Most of the people helping to deliver the session were volunteers (apart from the professionals at the five vaccination stations) and I was very impressed by the role played by the volunteers who had been well trained and who were very helpful.
I was less impressed with the venue which turned out to be a long corridor behind the stand at the west end of the rugby league pitch – about five metres wide and 70 or 80 meters long, which was cold and those required to be vaccinated had to queue outside before entering.
This was not ideal as there were many wheelchair patients.
