I AM appalled by the thought of yet more building on the green belt in Warrington.
We have lost far too much in recent years and the prospect of more large housing estates is a real concern.
Yet I am struck by the irony of people in large houses in Grappenhall Heys and parts of Stretton – which were green fields less than 20 years ago – complaining about the problems in south Warrington.
I am sure they weren’t complaining when they bought their houses. And every field around there has a sign up saying ‘reserved for development’.
What did they expect to happen? Looks like a case of snobbery and build away from us.
