I WAS interested to read June Smith’s letter (Warrington Guardian, February 14) and her worries of a lack of ‘truly affordable’ housing costing less than £100,000 in Warrington.
With a quick search on Rightmove I found more than 1,300 one and two-bed properties within a fivemile radius of Warrington.
They started at £20,000 and there were even a couple of three beds that came in at £100,000.
If you can afford £125,000 there are more than 2,000 properties available for sale in the same area and more than 2,600 at £150,000 or under.
Of course this is only just a snapshot and some may be listed more than once, but I think it goes to show that there are a lot more affordable homes for sale in Warrington than people assume.
