I REFER to the announcement by the leader of Warrington Borough Council Terry O’Neill that he is to stand down as leader of the council (Warrington Guardian, November 6).
What welcoming news this is.
When he departs what legacy of his leadership will he leave to the people of Warrington?
A chronically congested town full of traffic that he has failed to address in his 10 yrs of leadership.
A declining town centre full of boarded up shops charity shops and takeaways.
A biased spending of money between the north and south of Warrington.
Closures of libraries and sports centres.
Failed to honour agreements to build alternative facilities ie Dallam hub and Sankey hub in the time limits.
Oh the list could go on and on.
So I say good riddance to Mr O’Neill.
Your contribution to the town has been zero while you got handsomely paid and receive a pension for doing nothing to improve standards in Warrington.
