ONCE again Ben Wakerley tells us what a good job he is doing for our bus service (Warrington Guardian, August 16).

Unfortunately that depends on where you live.

On Gainsborough Road our service number 11 to 12 is continually being shortened.

When he took over his colleague was approached and a complaint was made regarding the fact that to speak to him meant I had missed my last bus home so I had to get an Arriva bus and walk the rest of the way.

As I am an elderly person with two shopping bags on a hot day he agreed that it was not appropriate.

On attending a meeting at Stockton Heath we tried to speak to Mr Wakerley but when he realised we were making a complaint he passed us on to his colleague who told us that our service was the biggest loss making route and they were running a business and there would be more changes.

They cut some early buses and dropped the price of the number 11 which after 3.30pm goes down the Causeway along with the Altrincham and wonderful Cheshire Cat buses then to Latchford where there are also other buses running.

You can only leave your car at home Mr Wakerley if you have a bus to get on or you can afford a taxi.
