I BELIEVE that Warrington Borough Council prides itself on being ‘green’ and ‘environmentally friendly’ with a strict recycling programme.

Could they explain why so many trees are being chopped down in the Birchwood and Fearnhead areas, a process which is making parts of these areas look bald and bleak?

With so many parts of Warrington being designated for housing projects – Peel Hall being an example – losing dozens of trees means that the the country atmosphere is being further decimated.

Is this part of the plan for thousands more houses to be built in the area?
