COMING off the Pink Eye roundabout on Monday, I heard a loud bang and the tyre pressure warning light came on.
By the way the car was behaving it was obvious I had a puncture.
The car behind was flashing for me to pull over and a young couple got out.
He said I’d gone over a piece of plastic.
In theory I know how to change a tyre, in reality actually doing it is quite difficult, not having the strength to loosen the wheel nuts.
The young man just said, don’t worry, I’ll do it.
It was only after they drove off I realised I didn’t even know their names.
So a huge thank you to the couple, whoever you are. The age of chivalry is not dead.
