ON Thursday at 10.30pm a group of children set fire to two bins on the playground on Thelwall Lane in Latchford (across from Londis).

They then returned and relit the bins and tried to set a large bush on fire. The fire brigade and police were called.

This playground has been plaguing residents for years with children climbing and damaging private garages and youngsters screaming on the playground at 3am.

That is not to mention the rats which moved into the area because of all the food and garbage left on the playground.

The council has been informed of all those problems and its answer was to cut a small triangle of grass and blow a few leaves away.

Now we have to deal with arson and this isn’t the first time the bins have been set on fire.
