CAN someone tell me I’m wrong?
When the green bins were introduced I’m sure we were told that it was to reduce costs involved in disposing of waste because green waste didn’t have to go to a tip (it would be composted) and the move would help the council meet its recycling targets and so avoid fines.
So what has changed?
If we put our waste in the black bins the amount going to tip will increase and so will disposal costs and landfill tax, plus the council will fail to meet it’s green targets No mention of this in the council’s current case but it is certainly the grounds they put forward for imposing both the green and blue bins not that many years ago.
