I AM concerned about the town applying for city status, who wants it?
Who are these people?
If anyone is interested in this they will not get it by providing inferior services such as cramped unsuitable book lockers instead of proper and substantial facilities And not a cramped and unsuitable post office as they have at WHSmith.
A successful city would have a substantial and important site, appropriate to service the businesses and the residential and delivery organisations.
We are in need of a lot of the infrastructure that all cities have, colleges of art, a decent art gallery, a school or college of music and drama, and a reliable transport system, including a late night service so Warrington people can attend town centre events and be sure of getting home safely at night.
By the looks of it the borough council does not want to pay for them.
Inferior services would not be acceptable in a city, and they are not acceptable in Warrington people.
