IN the recent weeks much has been made of the sorry state that Network Warrington is in, having to cut and modify bus routes to save money.
It is no wonder that services are in decline when the taxis in Warrington are doing so much business.
This past week or so I have had to pass Bank Quay Station and Central Station and the taxi ranks are packed with taxis.
The one rank around Bank Quay stretches back from the station to Slutchers Lane.
I have never seen a bus anywhere near Bank Quay except to pass along Liverpool Road from the town centre totally avoiding an obviously busy area.
Another route that is not well served is past the hospital.
Only a couple of routes service this lucrative area directly.
Nothing from Penketh, Sankey, Grappenhall, Stockton Heath or Woolston goes anywhere near the hospital directly.
I can see that certain circular routes could benefit from diverting to the stations, particularly Bank Quay and the hospital.
