WHAT on earth is Warrington Borough Council playing at when it announces the closure of the YMCA for homeless people, then announces an unwanted scheme – a swimming pool – to cast another £15 million to Dallam.

The money would be better spent on the homeless to keep the YMCA open.

I can’t see any need for a hub in Bewsey and there is no need for a pool when there is one just around the corner under the railway bridge at the top of Howley Lane.

This hub can’t be justified when homeless people are on the streets.

I can’t understand why the council keeps on patronising the people of Dallam saying it’s an area of poverty.

Most people of Dallam have a car, some have two, nearly everyone has a satellite dish. In fact there are more dishes in Dallam than Cape Canaveral.

The council needs to get its priorities right and abolish this notneeded swimming pool. I can’t see it being viable, the council needs a rethink.

Spend the money on the homeless not an unwanted hub in a very affluent area, where most people own their homes.
