AFTER watching the TV series Dickensian you would think things have improved in this day and age.
I am writing regarding CPS Centre in Culcheth.
The centre is on the first floor with Sainsbury’s on the ground floor.
The lift has been playing up for more than a year and people have been getting stuck in it on a regular basis.
Now this Christmas there has been no lift for more than six weeks.
I am elderly and struggle to get up the stairs, other elderly people have come up on the escalator and gone down the stairs on their bums.
Where is the dignity in that?
A part has been ordered and will take weeks so the shop keepers have told me.
A message was left on the CPS website and they were patronisingly told we have your details, we will let you know when it is working again.
So until then it is able-bodied customers only.
I am sure that the various shops are struggling with no lift and much less trade and they could claim for loss of earning especially in the period before Christmas.
Are we still in the Dickensian era because they didn’t have lifts then either?
