THE north /south divide regarding Warrington Borough Council’s services that it provides to the residents of the north and southern parts of the town continues.
Following the strong winds of three weeks ago and the deluge of falling leaves it was interesting to see the council’s approach to the problem.
Last week I witnessed the miniature motorised road sweeper driving along the footpaths of Kingsway South collecting the large amounts of fallen leaves and rubbish accumulated on the footpaths.
Last Saturday I was walking along Fairfield Road in Stockton Heath to find the gutters 2in deep in fallen leaves.
On top of that the footpaths were covered in compacted damp and wet leaves that caused a slip hazard.
The footpaths on Knutsford Road, Grappenhall, were in the same condition.
It just shows that the Labour-controlled council we have is biased towards the Labour-controlled wards of the town and the people who pay their council tax receive the worst services.
