I HAVE a hair salon and a restaurant in Bold Street.
It is hard enough to keep small business’ heads above water with VAT, business rates, gas, electric etc.
I have been bringing in business for 40 years — I am a survivor. But what gets me is parking wardens harassing businesses. There are double yellow lines everywhere Business in town is so bad and Warrington is dying with this aggressive trait. Who says yellow lines need to be everywhere? I can see that in not too long town centres will be turned into domestic dwellings as all the empty boarded-out shops are getting more and more.
I have suggested to council free parking after 2.30pm to encourage people to visit after this time to save the town. All the parking enforcement tells me is: "It is the law — we are governed by the law."
How can I meet these people who are making this law?
