I AM an OAP and proud of it.
In the run up to the elections, political parties will give reasons why they think they are the best people to run the Government.
Having been around for some while, I would urge everyone who votes in this election to think about the people who voted in past elections, when it comes to the subject of care for the elderly or in modern day parlance a drain on the budget.
Please remember that the self same people who paid the taxes that enabled those voters to enjoy the lifestyle they have today did so in the belief that there was going to be a better future for next generations.
One thing is clear to me now. I will be voting in the next election with this thought in mind. All the lies people tell are not true.
I wish that when one votes, one could have a receipt to keep so that one could return it to whoever and say ‘that is not what I voted for, I want my vote back’. Is that not what society is all about now? Keep your receipt.
