WHAT is wrong with the traffic in Warrington?
For my job, I have to drive from my home in Penketh to places such as Trafford, Knutsford and Northwich.
I am usually on the road during the morning rush hour and sadly, the evening rush hour.
Obviously I expect traffic to be bad on the way into Manchester but inevitably, my problems start while I’m in Warrington.
I get on the M62 at junction eight, the Gemini junction, and I am sick and tired of getting on the motorway and then having to just sit there in slow moving traffic.
A year or so ago, the powers that be did a significant amount of work around the junctions where the M6 joins the M62 and there were loads of cones, narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit.
Remarkably, this actually speeded up traffic flow.
Perhaps that’s the answer – bring back the roadworks and speed up our journey.
But if that’s bad, getting across Warrington, particularly around Bridge Foot is an absolute nightmare in both morning and evening.
My heart sinks when I have to go to Northwich. After fighting my way through the town centre, I then have to navigate the nightmare that is Stockton Heath.
These are not new problems and isn’t it time something was done to sort them out?
Us poor motorists are getting a rough deal.
