WE would like to thank Clrs Tony Higgins and Terry Hill for their help with the parkland in Leonard Street.
For a number of years we have had a lot of problems with drinking, drug use and general disregard for the little park and the people who reside in Leonard Street and Dickenson Street, until four or five of us took it upon ourselves to do something about it and tidy it up.
We cut, trimmed and dug up some of the high, thick bushes.
Previously we had contacted Warrington Borough Council by email and telephone calls and Tony Higgins met with us with ideas as to what could be done.
He also contacted Terry Hill, who met with us.
We were informed that the trees would be thinned out, which they have been, and the area looks a lot lighter.
We will be planting some flowers to add colour.
We thank both councillors for their support with our problems.
Their backing is very much appreciated.
