YOU will know that Elizabeth Gaskill’s house at 84 Plymouth Grove, Manchester has recently been restored, and is being opened to the public on Sunday.
Some of the corresponding publicity literature claims that it is of a unique design by the architect, Richard Lane, around 1838.
However, from photographs, it appears to be identical to the former Maternity Home (now Spirit Restaurant) in Victoria Park.
I can find no local photographs to confirm this, but your readers may wish to contribute to this discussion.
Certainly, local historians may be interested in this suggestion.
