THERE is no Matty Ashton in the Warrington Wolves team to face Salford Red Devils this afternoon.

The winger, who has been ever-present this season to date, is said to have picked up a minor injury in training this week to rule him out of the Round Nine clash.

Matty Russell replaces him on the wing for what will be his maiden first-team appearance of the season having played twice on loan at Hull FC earlier in the year.

There is better news, however, in the return of Ben Currie who starts at loose forward having missed the past two games with a pectoral injury.

His return means Jordy Crowther drops to the bench along with Joe Philbin, with Paul Vaughan coming back into the starting front row alongside James Harrison.

Stefan Ratchford also comes back into the starting line-up to replace the injured Connor Wrench.
