WARRINGTON Wolves have been dealt a huge blow by this afternoon’s Match Review Panel sitting, with a ban handed down to Paul Vaughan.

The prop has been hit with a two-match penalty notice for the challenge that saw him sin-binned during Saturday’s defeat to Catalans Dragons.

Vaughan was shown an early yellow card for a tip tackle on Cesar Rouge and upon further examination, the panel have deemed the incident worth of a Grade C dangerous throw/lift charge.

The Wire do retain the right to contest the charge but as things stand, Vaughan will miss the Super League trip to Leeds Rhinos on Friday and the Challenge Cup quarter-final against St Helens that follows.

With Zane Musgrove and Joe Philbin already ruled out of the trip to Headingley under concussion protocol having both failed in-game head injury assessments on Saturday, Vaughan’s ban is a further blow to Sam Burgess’ middle unit.

Leeds themselves are not without their disciplinary issues, with their skipper Cameron Smith and prop Justin Sangare both handed one-match bans that would currently rule them out of Friday's clash with The Wire.
