WARRINGTON Wolves will be without two of their middle-unit players for next week's trip to Leeds Rhinos.

Props Zane Musgrove and Joe Philbin both had to be withdrawn at different points during the 32-24 loss to Catalans Dragons having come from the bench, with head coach Sam Burgess confirming post-match that both had failed in-game head injury assessments.

The loss of two players to head injuries meant Warrington could trigger their "18th man," with Matty Nicholson entering the fray in the second half.

Shortly after scoring his first Wire try in the first half, Musgrove left the field and Philbin followed him down the tunnel after the break to leave the team two middles down for what remained of the contest.

Under concussion protocols, both players must now stand down from training and matches for a minimum of 12 days, thus ruling them out of the trip to Headingley on Friday.

Wire may also be sweating on the availability of another prop in Paul Vaughan, who was sent to the sin bin early on having been deemed to have made a dangerous tackle on Catalans full-back Cesar Rouge.
