THEY threatened a stirring fightback, but Warrington Wolves succumbed to defeat against Catalans Dragons at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Warrington made a nightmare start to trail 18-0 within 13 minutes, with Paul Vaughan also sin-binned during that period, while a poor start to the second half saw them trail by 16 points again.
However, they dragged the deficit back to four points but could not find a way into the lead.
Here is what supporters have been saying on social media post-match...
@MattTurner_WG 1st 20 minutes we were totally asleep & let them go 18-0 up. We didn't deserve the win & they did. Great crowd of 11k.

Good Effort to nearly claw big deficits. Shows character but defense is lacking on the edges. One loss doesn't end our season. @MattTurner_WG we can turn this on Friday in Leeds.

We conceded 28 points in 2 poor 10 minute spells, thatβs not good enough, chasing the game from the first 10 minutes, too many individual errors cost us
