THERE were five Warrington Wolves players on show during today’s 1895 Cup clash between North Wales Crusaders and Widnes Vikings.

As well as their new partnership with their neighbours, The Wire have retained their dual-registration agreement with the League One Welshmen and as such, teammates collided in Colwyn Bay.

Senior prop Joe Bullock was among the Warrington players who featured for Widnes, who ran out 30-14 winners on the day. The former Wigan man has been recovering from a knee cartilage issue that hampered his pre-season but he missed out on selection for the Super League opener against Catalans Dragons.

He came off the bench for Allan Coleman’s side alongside Max Wood, who also scored the final try for the Vikings, while Tom Whitehead started the game at loose forward.

Young prop Lucas Green and centre Zac Bardsley-Rowe were in the North Wales side, with the former coming off the bench and the latter starting.
