WARRINGTON Wolves fans have been reacting on social media after watching their team lose their first game of the 2024 season.
The Wire were beaten in Perpignan by Catalans Dragons, who played the entire second half with 12 men following Michael McIlorum's red card but managed to secure a 16-10 victory.
Here is what supporters have been saying in reaction to the game and the performance...
Effort and commitment in abundance, however poor ruck control, dumb penalties on the back of the ruck control, and general ill discipline was awful to watch. Apart from Vaughan and Fitzgibbon, the pack was embarrassingly dominated.

Huge mistakes from Burgess so far.
No need for panic stations. Work is needed on discipline and defence but its round one at a difficult Catalans. Looking forward to seeing our response next Friday against FC.

Positives:

Great commitment in the 1st 40 & the better team
I’d have took 16-10 defeat b4 the kick off if offered.
Negatives:
Wire disappointed with the 2nd half, with poor discipline
Warrington like under Daryl Powell, showing again they cannot control a game to beat 12 men!
Not getting carried away as it’s the 1st game of the season. Just scratching my head a little with the Gleeson attack🤷♂️ none existent TBH. I’d love Lee Briers alongside Burgess. But hey game 1 Catalan are a good side, loads of improvement in us and Lindop take a bow young man👌

First half not bad, some discipline issues but otherwise not bad.

Second half absolutely embarrassing!
Poor discipline, poor defence, poor attack.
Looking like last season all over again!!
Didn’t think the officiating was great but our decision making 10 yards from the opposition try line was baffling to say the least. How many times did we kick the ball away on the 4th tackle with Catalan on the rack!
