WARRINGTON Wolves fans were pleased with what they saw from their young side as they returned to action for the first time in 2024.
The first of two pre-season friendlies saw a youthful Wire side edge a thrilling contest against neighbours Widnes Vikings, winning 46-40 at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
A crowd of just over 3,000 were in the ground and some of them took to X - formerly known as Twitter - to give their views on what they saw...
Very impressed with out young guns against a very strong Widnes side. Our scrumhalf was very energetic and had a great passing game. Good run out in front of a decent crowd.

I think we should still give Widnes a cup for turning up. Maybe 40 years down the line they’ll release an away kit adorned in primrose and blue to commemorate coming within 6 points of our 4th team https://t.co/oW1wnMdTzu
