RILEY Dean has left Warrington Wolves on loan again, but this time to a Super League club.

Earlier, the Warrington Guardian revealed the 21-year-old half-back was set to join Castleford Tigers on a deal until the end of the season.

The move has now been confirmed by both clubs, with Dean to spend the remainder of the campaign at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle but The Wire would have the ability to recall him at two weeks' notice.

Interestingly, Castleford's next fixture sees them host Warrington on Friday, June 23, but Dean will be ineligible to feature in that game and the clash between the two sides at The Halliwell Jones Stadium in September.

Wire recalled Dean from his loan spell at Featherstone Rovers last month after he had scored five tries and kicked 23 goals in 11 appearances for the Championship leaders.

He started The Wire’s defeat to Leigh Leopards on May 26 but made way for the returning Josh Drinkwater for the Magic Weekend loss to Hull FC.

Drinkwater subsequently picked up an ankle injury that ruled him out of Saturday’s game against Huddersfield Giants but head coach Daryl Powell opted to use Peter Mata’utia alongside George Williams in the halves in the 30-26 victory.

Instead, Dean played for the reserves against Huddersfield on Saturday, assisting a try and kicking six goals in a 42-42 draw at Victoria Park.

Dean has played 10 times for the Warrington first team since debuting in 2019 and has also spent loan spells with the likes of York, Dewsbury and Newcastle in that time.
