MATTY Ashton was the big winner at Warrington Wolves’ annual end-of-season awards.

The winger picked up three prizes in all, including jointly winning the Ken Kelly Player of the Year award alongside half-back George Williams.

Ashton also picked up the Player’s Player prize and the Young Player of the Year award for a season in which he is the club’s leading try-scorer with 13 in 22 appearances.

The 24-year-old is also among the top metre-makers in Super League as a whole having run for 2,880m with ball in hand.

He shares the main award with Williams, who has scored seven tries and assisted 20 more from the halves during a difficult 2022 for the club.

Indeed, the England international has been directly involved in just under a third of Warrington’s Super League tries this year.
