JACOB Gannon is the latest player to be allowed to leave Warrington Wolves on loan.

The young second rower has joined League One side Rochdale Hornets on a temporary deal for the next fortnight.

A regular for the reserves, the 20-year-old older brother of Leeds Rhinos forward Morgan Gannon is yet to make his senior debut for The Wire.

He is in contention to make his debut for Hornets in their local derby against Oldham on Sunday.

Gannon’s departure follows Ellis Longstaff’s temporary move to Super League rivals Hull FC, which was confirmed yesterday, and takes the number of players currently out on loan to seven.

Josh Charnley and Keanan Brand are both currently with Championship leaders Leigh Centurions while hooker Tom Inman (York City Knights), prop Eribe Doro (Widnes) and full-back Luke Broadbent (Whitehaven) are also currently playing in the second tier.
