ELLIS Longstaff will spend the rest of the month away from Warrington Wolves on loan.

The second rower has been allowed to join Super League rivals Hull FC on a three-week loan deal.

Having come through the club’s academy, the England Knights forward’s first-team appearances have been limited in 2022.

He has featured six times this season, the last of which was the 40-8 loss to Catalans Dragons in May, although he scored a hat-trick for the club’s reserves against London Broncos on Saturday.

After making his first-team debut in 2020, Longstaff has made 14 appearances for The Wire in all.

He is eligible to make his Black and Whites debut in their Magic Weekend derby with Hull KR on Sunday.

"Ellis is a really tough cookie – he’s highly rated across the competition and adds some energy and a strong defensive focus to our pack," said FC coach Brett Hodgson, who has also signed Leeds full-back Jack Walker and St Helens outside back Josh Simm on loan.

"He is another player who has shown plenty of progress at a young age, emphasised by his selection for the England Knights recently."
