JAKE Wardle and Matty Nicholson could make their Warrington Wolves debuts against Salford Red Devils on Sunday.

Centre Wardle – signed on loan from Huddersfield Giants in a swap deal which has seen Toby King move in the opposite direction – has been named in Daryl Powell’s 21-man squad for the game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Loose forward Nicholson is also named as is outside back Greg Minikin, who is in the first-team squad for the first time after playing two reserve games in his recovery from an ACL injury.

Half-back Riley Dean also features having been recalled from his loan spell at Championship side Newcastle Thunder.

The temporarily departed King drops out alongside Ellis Longstaff and injured duo Joe Philbin and Matty Ashton.

Winger Ashton misses this week’s game with a glute issue while prop Philbin starts the long road to recovery from the ACL injury he sustained during last week’s win over Hull FC.

On-loan St Helens prop Kyle Amor (hamstring) remains absent, as does skipper Jack Hughes (shoulder).
