DESPITE defeat to St Helens, Warrington Wolves fans came away largely pleased with their side's performance.
The Wire were edged out 12-10 by their neighbours in a pulsating contest at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
However, the majority of the reaction among Wire supporters was positive, with many pleased with what their side showed against the league leaders and defending champions.

Here is some of what Wire fans have been saying on social media...
'Warrington Wolves - Warrington Guardian' Facebook page:
Amy Leanne Newens: Outstanding effort, such an improvement.. My heart is racing 💛💙 We didn't get the win, but we would have definitely deserved it! Every single one them made me proud tonight!!
Les Brookman: Absolutely fantastic game. Best I've seen for a long time. The speed from Ashton and Wrench is awesome. A great platform to launch our next few games from. Defense was brilliant
Tony Deakin: One pleasing aspect was Mr Child did well particular late on he let the players dictate the outcome and not him , which made for an exciting finish for both sets of fans
Ian Daintith: Gutsy performance and what pace we have Wrench and Ashton. Well done Wire
Jean Savage: So proud of the effort that was put in tonight... Hard luck you didn't win because you certainly deserved it.. If that's the game you put in every week you defo will get the rewards at the end of the season.... Outstanding effort.
Darren Shire: Great to see Ashton running hard and straight… Connor Wrench is a diamond!
Mark Deakin: Absolute masterstroke from Powell Widdop was superb at full back
John Knox: A moral victory. To keep Saints to nill in the second half just wow. The crowd was electric helping the lads. A lot of effort defense wise and better attacking . 12-10 defeat I can live with. Let's build on this in a fortnight against Leeds
Claire Taylor: Huge improvement and a performance to be proud of. Onwards and upwards now, we know you’re capable
Sarah Rouski: Best performance of the season
John Coates: Huge improvement and some great last ditch defence.
Stuart Wilson: Great performance tonight unlucky at the end but the two tries we gave away was criminal. Thought Gareth and Connor were outstanding but I thought every player showed they do want to be part of this new Wire team
Gareth Edwards: Heart and fight, something they've not shown for some time now.
That was arguably @WarringtonRLFC best performance of the season. We showed what we can do and stood up and showed a bit of resolve against a very good @Saints1890

@WarringtonRLFC that’s all we ask of you, some gut performance like that, wins will come if the performance stays as well grit as that
