A COUPLE of Warrington Wolves records were achieved when they defeated Wigan Warriors 40-14 at the DW Stadium this week.
Jake Mamo led the scoring with a hat-trick of tries.
Here's some facts and figures, compiled by Stanski and Mike Parsons:
- Most points by Warrington ever at Wigan, beating the previous best of 28 in April 2016
- Biggest margin of victory (26 points) at Wigan, the previous best had been 18 when Wire won 24-6 in March, 2011, and by exactly the same score in February, 1984
- The 26-point margin of Wire victory is the biggest home or away since a 40-10 win at The HJ in 2016
- The seven tries is the most Warrington have scored in an away game against Wigan, beating the six that was scored in a 24-17 Challenge Cup second-round win on February 23, 1975
- Only one player had previously scored three tries against Wigan at their ground and that was winger John Bevan in the above cup tie
- Jake Mamo became the first Wire player to score a hat-trick against Wigan since Matt King in 2009 Challenge Cup semi final
