WARRINGTON Wolves' side may have been much-changed, but they still managed to protect their outstanding home record in 2026.
The Wire wrapped up the Super League regular season with a 12th victory from 13 league home fixtures - and a 15th from 16 games in all competitions - as they beat Toulouse Olympique at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
A 26-14 victory for Sam Burgess' side, for whom several front-line stars were rested, also saw them seal third place in the table with focus now turning to the play-offs where they will host Hull KR in the eliminator round.
Warrington's side showed 11 changes from last week's win over Wakefield Trinity while 12 of their 17 emerged through the club's academy, the vast majority of them recently.
And while they got off to a slow start when Paul Ulberg was able to chase and ground Cesar Rouge's low kick to open the scoring for the visitors, they were given a gift of a response immediately when an attempted pass from Henry O'Kane hit Ewan Smith on the head and broke for Arron Lindop to stroll in.
The young Wires were forced to defend their line for long periods, but they were eventually cracked by another Rouge kick, this time a high one to the left wing for Mathieu Pons to outjump Lachlan Webster, claim the ball cleanly and touch down.
However, Webster would respond in kind by getting around the outside of his opposite number on the stroke of half time to finish off a neat Wire handling move.
Again, the sides swapped tries early in the second half - Romeo Tropis was sent over by Luke Polselli's offload for the hosts before Max Wood hit a good line from Leon Hayes' flat ball to equalise again - but Wire kicked for home in the final quarter.
Lindop again capitalised on another kick error - this time from Polselli - to score his second try and despite Charlie McKler being sin-binned for a shoulder charge that sparked an all-in brawl shortly afterwards, they had the game wrapped up by the time he returned.
The outstanding Hayes produced the perfect kick to the left edge that bounced kindly for Josh Smith to touch down and seal an impressive comeback victory.
