FORMER Warrington Wolves players haunted them as the Super League leaders were toppled by in-form Leigh Leopards.

Gareth O'Brien crossed twice as Leigh established a 20-12 interval lead and Josh Charnley bagged the crucial first score in the second period, putting his side 12 points to the good.

Joe Philbin's charge-over effort just before half-time gave Wire a lifeline after they had been played off the park for most of the opening 40 minutes, with George Williams' breakaway effort being the other Wire try at the point they trailed 14-0.

Ben Reynolds' 75th-minute opportunist effort wrapped up the win for Leigh.
