WARRINGTON Wolves were able to round off a torrid season on a winning note at Salford Red Devils.

A more experienced Wire side had too much for a much-changed home outfit, with young prop Luke Thomas scoring his first senior try for Daryl Powell’s side as they secured their first away win since February.

Greg Minikin also crossed the whitewash for the first time in Warrington colours while Josh Thewlis touched down twice. Oliver Holmes and George Williams also crossed for the visitors.

Making his first senior start for the club, scrum-half Leon Hayes assisted Minikin’s try and kicked three conversions from five attempts for The Wire.

Salford’s tries came from James Greenwood and Myles-Dalton Harrop.
