WARRINGTON Wolves’ Women’s Challenge Cup campaign came to an end on Sunday.

Having finished second in Group A behind defending champions St Helens, Lee Westwood’s side were handed a tough trip to Group B winners Leeds Rhinos in the quarter-finals.

It proved to be a bridge too far for The Wire, who lost 40-0 at Weetwood Sports Park despite starting the game strongly, meaning they miss out on a semi-final appearance on home soil.

The Halliwell Jones Stadium is hosting both last-four ties as a double header on Sunday, April 24, with Leeds taking on York City Knights and St Helens facing Featherstone Rovers.

Warrington will now focus on their Betfred Women’s Super League campaign, which gets underway with a trip to Barrow Raiders on Sunday, May 15.
