MANY years of dedicated voluntary work by members of Lymm Oughtrington Park Cricket Club have been recognised.
Cheshire Cricket League have honoured their member club, Lymm OP, with the Most Improved Cricket Ground Award.
Lymm’s second team vice captain, and the club’s league representative, Mani Singh, received the award from Cheshire Cricket League chairman Selwyn Stephenson.
“This award reflects the long-term investment that LOPCC volunteers and members have continuously made to both capital investment and regular maintenance over many years,” said Stephenson.

“Every time I visit the club in Lymm, not only am I made to feel welcome (as are all the league umpires and visiting clubs), but I see year-on-year improvements to the ground and the facilities.
“The spirit of cricket and everything we love about the game is alive and thriving at Lymm."
Bill Madeley, LOPCC's president, said that the venue has never looked so great and inviting.
“The pitch and excellent playing conditions compliment the constantly improving standard of cricket being played across our six senior teams and the incredibly successful junior section,” said Madeley, who went on to thank all the club’s volunteers over the years whose dedication has been recognised by this award.
