SOME of golf’s longest hitters will be bringing their impressive feats of strength and skill to Warrington for a third consecutive year.
Alder Root Golf Club will once again host the British Long Drive Championships, which form part of the European Long Drive Games, on Sunday, June 9.
Spectators can watch the action free of charge with a live DJ and a barbecue available during a day of family-friendly entertainment.
Germany’s Finn Quade won the event last year, with competitors frequently hitting drives of more than 400 yards back down the 9th/18th fairway at the Winwick club.
This year, the golfers will be hitting from the club’s newly sculpted long-drive launch pad, marking a permanent location for future long-drive tournaments at the club.
