LUKE Littler maintained his blistering form with victory over Joe Cullen to win the Austrian Open title in Graz.
The 17-year-old Premier League leader from Warrington produced another top-drawer display as he swept past ‘The Rockstar’ 8-4 in the final, hitting four 180s with a match average of just over 102.
It was a second PDC European Tour title for ‘The Nuke’, who won the Belgian Open in March on what was his event debut before being knocked out of the European Darts Grand Prix by Luke Humphries in Sindelfingen, Germany earlier this month.
Sunday’s final at the Steiermarkhalle had stayed on throw until the eighth leg, when Littler took out 65 on double top to move 5-3 ahead.
Although Cullen immediately broke back, Littler put the hammer down again to take the 10th leg against the throw and regain control.
Littler held the next leg to move one away from victory – which he delivered with another break after a clinical 71 checkout on the bullseye.
"I'm just happy to get over the line again," said Littler, who was awarded the traditional green jacket alongside the winner's trophy after scooping £30,000 in prize money.
"It didn't happen in Sindelfingen but I've come here and I've put myself right and won another one.
"We started off really well but I think I stuck at it and Joe started to fall off, and I got over the line.
"This weekend has been good, my darts have been good and these guys [the crowd] have helped me so much."
Littler - who won a third Premier League of the year on Thursday in Liverpool to return to the top of the table - had begun his challenge at the Steiermarkhalle with wins over Zoran Lerchbacher and Damon Heta to reach Finals Day.
He then battled past Krzysztof Ratajski and Danny Noppert on Sunday to reach the semi-finals, where he again averaged over 105 for a second time in the event as he swept past Ross Smith by a 7-2 margin.
