DANIELLA Sutton is progressing nicely in the world of kart racing.

The 14-year-old St Gregory's High School student is enjoying life in the fast lane as she contests a national series and has some irons in the fire as she sets about gaining race experience.

The Great Sankey motorsports fanatic is placed a handy fifth of 31 drivers in the Daniel Ricciardo Series UK after three rounds, with more more events to come.

Sutton, who finished 11th overall in the same DRS100 campaign last year, has achieved sixth, fourth and fifth-place finishes in the three Grand Finals of the season so far, having competed at Shenington in the Cotswolds, Llandow in North Wales and most recently Clay Pigeon Raceway in Dorset.

In the latter, she was achieving average speeds in excess of 50mph over 22 laps and she will be aiming to continue her good form in the next round at Hooton Park in Birkenhead on July 15 and 16.

Also, recently, she debuted in the British Kart Championship at Glan-Y-Gors track, North Wales, with a spectacular performance battling in the final with some of the UK’s top drivers.

Sutton has great aspirations and ambitions to race in the higher echelons of motorsport.

Therefore, later this summer, she is excited to be having a test in a Ginetta Junior race car with Elite Motorsport, one of the front-running teams in the British GT calendar.

She will be completing this test at Blyton circuit, Lincolnshire.

Sutton said she is grateful to all the support she is receiving from family, partners and sponsors, acknowledging she would not be competing at the level she is now without such help.
