WARRINGTON Rylands have boosted their squad with two new additions as they bid to end their poor run of form.
Defender Scott Duxbury and forward A-Jay Leitch-Smith have signed on the dotted line at Gorsey Lane as caretaker boss Jody Banim looks to add depth to his squad.
Both are available to make their debuts when Blues host Whitby Town this afternoon – a game in which they will be trying to bring a seven-match winless run in league fixtures to an end.
Duxbury, who can play at either left-back or centre-back, joins from Spennymoor Town having spent the vast majority of his career at National League North level.
He won that division’s title with Stockport County in 2019 and has also spent time at AFC Fylde, Chorley and Boston United.
Leitch-Smith, 32, has played extensively in the Football League for hometown club Crewe Alexandra as well as Yeovil Town, Morecambe, Port Vale and Shrewsbury Town.
He has been turning out for fellow Northern Premier League Premier Division side Nantwich Town this season, scoring twice in 16 appearances.
His arrival comes as a boost to the Rylands attack, with Kane Drummond to miss the next three matches following his sending-off in the FA Trophy defeat at Colne last week.
