A LITTLE under two months after his shock departure from Warrington Rylands, Dave McNabb is back in football.

The former Blues boss, who left Gorsey Lane at the start of September after more than 150 games in charge, has been unveiled as the new manager of Northern Premier League West Division leaders Macclesfield.

Following McNabb to Macc is Tim Lees, who was part of his coaching staff at Rylands and will now serve as his assistant manager.

If he can lead the pre-season title favourites to promotion, he would be lifting the NPL West title for the second season running having guided Blues to the crown last season.

That was the third of three promotions he masterminded during his four years in Padgate while he also steered them to a memorable FA Vase triumph at Wembley Stadium in 2021.

He takes over a Macclesfield side that leads the division by three points.
