A SWIMMING club has received a huge boost thanks to the National Lottery.

Lymm Swimming Club (LSC) has been given the funding to help it respond to changes imposed by the pandemic to continue to deliver swimming lessons for children in the village.

Lymm Parish Council Chair Cllr Bob Barr presented Lymm Swimming Club with the cheque.

LSC operating at Lymm High School pool, has been running since 1977 and to date has given more than 4,000 young children the life skill of swimming, with tailored lessons to meet their individual needs.

Secretary Pam Pollard said: "We are delighted that the National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. Thank you NationalLottery players."

Chair Cllr Bob Barr also unveiled a plaque to commemorate Hilary Brooks, who sadly passed away this year, as a mark of respect for her great work as the Vice Chair of the club. Her family, friends and club members were there to celebrate the unveiling.
