WARRINGTON Town have added experience to their midfield with the signing of Jay Harris.
The 34-year-old joins having racked up close to 500 appearances in the Football League and the higher echelons of the non-league pyramid.
Harris is perhaps best known for two spells at Wrexham and a successful stint at Tranmere Rovers, whom he helped to back-to-back promotions.
He can also name Accrington Stanley, Chester and Macclesfield Town among his former clubs.
Central midfielder Harris made his Yellows debut off the bench during yesterday’s 2-0 defeat to Matlock Town.
Manager Paul Carden was impressed with the impact he made both on and off the field.
“Jay said more in 10 minutes after the game than some lads who have been here for three or four years,” he said.
“I wish we had more of that kind of character and that’s probably why he’s played higher. He’s got that character and the ability to back it up.
“Saturday was his first game since last year – he’s probably only had two or three training sessions but you’re itching to put him on.
“He’s good to be a really good player for us, a really good leader and character to have.”
