LOGAN Swann reckons Wolves' turbulent season should not prevent them from setting their sights on a place in October's Grand Final.

Wolves have endured some tough times during 2006 particularly during a recent run of five straight losses and have their work cut out if they are to match last season's finishing position of fourth.

But that could all count for nothing if they can get their form together in the play-offs.

And Swann, who says he will declare Super League XI as a success if Wolves can improve on last year's first-round exit, is still thinking big particularly after victory against Wigan in their last match.

He said: "We're definitely not thinking this season is a write-off for us.

"We've had a few injuries and things haven't gone our way in the last few weeks but we've stuck to our guns and backed each other up, which is something you need to do in a team sport.

"We've just got to keep building team spirit with performances like the Wigan one.

"If we build some momentum going into the play-offs then anything is possible.

"We're still aiming to be in a final situation. We're in the top six at the moment, we've got six games to go and we've just got to keep building.

"I'm looking at a Grand Final and I'm pretty sure that a lot of my teammates are too.

"And I suppose the fact that people are focusing on the top four and not concentrating on us at the moment takes the pressure off us a bit.

"We can just worry about ourselves and get on with the job."

That job starts at Super League champions Bradford tomorrow, Friday, when Wolves realistically need a win if they are to have any hope of overturning Bulls' six-point advantage in the table and securing a home tie in the play-offs.

Wins in each of their last four games against Bradford should give Wolves encouragement but Swann knows how difficult it will be against the club he left at the end of 2004.

"It's always good to go back to Odsal and catch up and play against my old teammates but it's not a nice place to go for any team," he said.

"It will be a very tough game. They're the champion side and we can expect another arm wrestle like we had against Wigan.

"But I think we've proved over recent games that we've played quite well against them and it's up to us on the day.

"If we pull out another solid 80-minute performance we'll be well on our way to winning."
