Warrington 4 Brooklands 2
WARRINGTON grabbed their first victory of the season with an excellent home performance against Brooklands’ sixth team.
Despite conceding the first goal, the hosts were always threatening and they grabbed an equaliser when Jon Parr finished with a neat reverse flick.
Going into the break level pegging, Warrington knew they had more in the tank and so it proved when they took the lead shortly after the restart following a clever penalty corner from Iain Richards.
A breakaway equaliser threatened to ruin Warrington’s day, but Simon Batey tucked the ball away after a goal-mouth scramble to wrestle back the lead and captain Geoff Stott made it three goals in three games with a rocket strike to put the result beyond doubt.
